Nolte, Baer Honored by Commonwealth

Baer Named Commonwealth Rookie of the Year

NEWTOWN, Pa. - A pair of members of the York College women's volleyball team earned All-MAC Commonwealth honors as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office on Monday.

In addition to the all-conference honors, the Spartans also had a major award winner in Sami Baer who was named the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year.

Morgan Nolte led the Commonwealth with a .294 hitting percentage with a team-high 201 kills with just 65 errors and averaged 2.01 kills per set. Defensively, the senior middle ranked top-10 in the league with a team-best 68 total blocks.

Nolte capped her career as a three-time All-Commonwealth honoree after earning an honorable mention nod as a sophomore, followed by a first-team honor as a junior. She finished with a .305 career attack percentage with 840 kills and a 2.16 kills/set average. She also compiled 289 total blocks which ranks fifth all-time in York history.

Sami Baer made a significant impact in her rookie campaign as she ranked third in the conference with 352 digs and a 3.83 digs/set average. She also posted a .920 serve receive percentage on a team-high 389 receptions.

Baer is the first Spartan to earn a Commonwealth Of-The-Year award since York joined the conference for the 2021 season. She is also the first Spartan since 2007 to earn a major conference award and just the second in program history to earn a conference Rookie of the Year honor.
