NEWTOWN, Pa. - Spartan senior guard
Jayden Rowe has been named the MAC Commonwealth Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week spanning January 26 through February 1 as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Rowe averaged 33.0 points per game to lead York to a pair of Commonwealth road wins at Widener and Messiah last week. Rowe racked up 21 points in the first seven minutes of play on his way to a new career-high 35 in York's 93-67 victory over the Pride. The senior guard helped lead York's 91-82 comeback win at Messiah on Saturday as the Spartans erased a 17-point deficit. Rowe led all players with 18 second-half points, including a team-high nine on an 18-8 game-clinching run through the last four minutes, as he finished the day with 31 points for his sixth 30-point game of the season.
Rowe has earned Player of the Week honors four times this season which leads the Commonwealth. The Spartan senior currently ranks first in the Commonwealth in scoring (24.8 ppg), ninth in rebounding (6.6 rpg), and third in made three-point field goals (45) and three-point field goals per game (2.4).
