YORK, PA – The York College men's basketball team was honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for academic excellence as announced by the organization on Thursday.

The Spartans were recognized for their collective academic performance while they also had five players recognized for their academic achievements. Grad guard

Jackson Mascari, and juniors
Aleks Smith,
Jayden Rowe, and
Tate Landis were highlighted for their individual academic year.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court honors junior, senior and graduate student-athletes who finished the academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The team finished the year with a GPA of 3.36 which was fifth among all 10 men's varsity programs at York. The Spartans were very consistent with a 3.36 GPA in the fall and a 3.37 in the spring as they also got the job done on the floor this year in winning the MAC Commonwealth title and winning an NCAA Tournament game.Â

The Spartans return to the floor on Friday, November 7 when the Spartans travel to Geneva, New York to take on Hobart College in the season opener. York begins their home schedule on November 11 against Johns Hopkins.
