YORK, PA – The York College men's golf team placed three players on the 2025 Academic All-MAC squad as announced on Thursday morning by the league office.

Gavin Ganter and
Matthew Salter were joined on the 10-player squad by junior
Jacob Fripp.

The Spring Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and in athletic competition during the 2025 spring semester. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote on the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Ganter finished his Spartan career as a two-time MAC All-Commonwealth finisher including earning the 2022-23 MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year. Ganter earned Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Region III honors for his senior year.

Ganter had a scoring average of 75.67 as he was one of two Spartans to play all 21 York rounds this year. Ganter set a new career low with a school-record seven-under-par 64 at the D3 Northeast Elite Invitational at the Williamsport Country Club on September 29. He concluded his career with a scoring average of 76.51 in 71 career rounds with two wins and nine top-five finishes.

Ganter graduated with a degree in entrepreneur and innovation while he also earned minors in marketing and finance. Ganter posted a 4.00 GPA in the spring semester and finished his college career with an overall GPA of 3.64.

Salter finished off his Spartan career with a strong senior year including a runner-up finish at the 2025 MAC Commonwealth Championship. Salter shot 70 in the tournament's opening round and followed that with 74 on Sunday to shoot an even-par 144 for the tournament. Salter was a two-time first-team MAC All-Commonwealth honoree during his career.

Salter led the Spartans in scoring average at 74 strokes per round. He had two rounds under par including a season-best 69. He had two top-five finishes and two top-ten placements. For his career, Salter owned a 76.16 scoring average in 58 Spartan rounds.

Salter graduated with a degree in sport management in May as he graduated with a GPA of 3.44.

Fripp had a strong junior year as he was the 2025 MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year in addition to earning GCAA All-Region III honors. Fripp shot an opening round 71at the MAC Championships as he trailed by two shots heading into the second round. Fripp was fantastic on the back nine on Sunday as he shot a two-under-par 34 to earn the one stroke win.

Fripp finished the year with a scoring average of 74.59 in 17 rounds of play. Fripp recorded two individual wins for the year in addition to a pair top-five finishes. Fripp owns a 76.53 scoring average in his 47 career rounds for the Spartans.

Fripp is a political science major who notched a spring GPA of 3.40. He carries an overall GPA of 3.52.
