Mott Named Regional Athlete of the Year as Seven Spartans Earn All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Seven Spartans have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their outstanding performances throughout the outdoor season.

Graduate thrower Andrew Mott was named the Mid-Atlantic Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year after finishing third in the discus and fourth in the shot put at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships. He was undefeated in the discus going into the NCAA Championships with a best throw of 55.57m (182' 4") from the Danny Curran Invitational. Earlier in the season, Mott won both the discus and shot at the MAC Championships, setting a personal record in the shot put with a throw of 17.89m (58' 8.5").

In addition to Mott, six other Spartans earned Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors. Top-five individuals in each event from each region earn All-Region status. York's All-Region honorees are as follows:

Payton Mann - 400 Hurdles - Regional Rank: 3rd
Brayden Ecker - Pole Vault - Regional Rank: 1st
Brody Weachter - Pole Vault - Regional Rank: 5th
Andrew Mott - Shot Put - Regional Rank: 1st
Andrew Mott - Discus - Regional Rank: 1st
Aidan Rollinson - Hammer - Regional Rank: 4th
Jake Bono - Javelin - Regional Rank: 5th
