Mott Garners Spring Academic All-MAC Honors

YORK, Pa. - All-American thrower Andrew Mott from the Spartan men's track and field team received Spring Academic All-MAC honors as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) on Monday.

Mott posted a stellar 3.93 grade point average for the spring semester while pursuing his master's degree in data analytics. In the field, the standout thrower captured first team NCAA All-America honors twice as he finished third in the discus throw and fourth in the shot put. He also earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in both the shot put and discus throw, in addition to capturing the MAC gold medals in both events. He was also voted the 2025 USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year and the 2025 Spring MAC Senior-Scholar Athlete for men's outdoor track and field.

The graduate thrower rewrote the overall MAC discus record this season (55.57m) and recorded the second-best throw in the discus and fourth-best throw in the shot put in DIII this season.

Mott capped his career as a three-time Spring Academic All-MAC honoree while achieving outdoor NCAA All-American honors six times and captured eight outdoor MAC gold medals.

The Spring Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and in athletic competition during the 2025 spring semester. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote on the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
