Ecker Earns All-America Honors in Pole Vault at NCAA Outdoor Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – Spartan junior pole vaulter Brayden Ecker achieved All-American status on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the SPIRE Institute.

Ecker earned Second Team NCAA All-America honors with a ninth-place finish as he matched his personal-best height of 4.95m (16' 2.75"). This accomplishment marks a major milestone in Spartan track and field history as Ecker is the first male pole vaulter to earn NCAA All-America status.

Aiden Anderson of St. Norbert won the national title as he cleared a height of 5.15m (16' 10.75").

Ecker capped off a superb first year with the Green and White as he broke the indoor (4.76m) and outdoor (4.95m) school records, claimed a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) outdoor pole vault title and captured a pair of MAC medals in the pole vault throughout the year.

For the week, Ecker and Andrew Mott earned All-America honors in all three events the pair competed in. Mott's two top-eight performances in the discus and shot put produced 11 team points for the Spartans.
