YORK, PA – The York College baseball team placed three players on the ABCA All-Region V squad as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Grad pitcher Ethan Kennedy earned second-team All-Region V honors while junior Lucas Prendergast and senior Michael Tinneny both earned third-team accolades.

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-American and Coach of the Year Committee.

All three Spartans earned first-team MAC All-Commonwealth honors earlier in the month.

Kennedy finished a great Spartan career with a brilliant grad season. He was 1-1 with ten saves in 20 appearances for the campaign. Kennedy posted a 2.53 ERA as he struck out 20 opponents in 21.1 innings of work. He walked a mere four batters in his time in the bump for the Spartans. Kennedy concludes his career with a pair of school records with 20 saves and 70 appearances.

Tinneny led the Spartans in batting with a .373 average. He scored 40 runs, had nine doubles, three triples and four home runs. Tinneny recorded 42 RBI as he owned a 1.025 OPS, a .540 slugging percentage and a .485 on-base percentage. He drew 30 walks and was hit by ten pitches. Tinneny is now a two-time ABCA All-Region V selection.

 Prendergast ended the year hitting .358 with 51 runs scored, 17 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 39 RBI. He posted a 1.067 OPS, a .586 slugging percentage and a .481 on-base percentage. Prendergast had 23 walks and was plunked by a team-high 18 pitches. Prendergast earns his first ABCA All-Region V honors.

In addition to the ABCA All-Region announcement, d3baseball.com released their all-region teams on Tuesday. Tinneny and Kennedy both earned second-team recognition.

The Spartans finished the season as the MAC Commonwealth runner-up as they fell to Messiah in the league championship series. York concluded the year with a record of 25-19.
