Three Spartans Named MAC All-Commonwealth

Grim, Hocker and Adams recognized by the league for their play

YORK, PA – The York College women's basketball team placed three players on MAC All-Commonwealth squads as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Morgan Adams, Breana Grim, and Alyssa Hocker all earned second-team honors for the Spartans. Adams joined the Spartan program this fall and is now a three-time MAC All-Commonwealth honoree. Grim and Hocker are now a two-time all-conference selections.
 
Grim, last year's Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, finished the year averaging 12.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. Grim shot 42.4% from the floor, 36.8% from three and 81.6% from the free throw line. She also had a team-high 41 steals in addition to 19 blocked shots.
 
Grim reached double figures in scoring in 18 of her 24 games including a career-high in wins over Fitchburg State and again against Albright on January 22. Grim had three games in which she scored in the 20's. She set a new career-high with eight rebounds in the January 15 win over Stevenson while she tied a career-high with seven assists in the regular season finale against Hood.
 
Hocker finished the campaign averaging 11.7 points and a team-leading 8.2 rebounds per game. Hocker shot 40.1% from the floor, 24.5% from three and 72.2% from the free throw line. She also handed out 50 assists, picked up 27 steals and blocked eight shots.
 
Hocker had a career night on December 28 with 35 points and 21 rebounds in the win over Fitchburg State. The 35 points are fourth on the Spartans' single-game list while the rebounds are tied for third. Hocker finished her Spartan career with 782 points and 594 rebounds in her 98 career games in the Green and White.
 
Adams finished the year leading the team in scoring at 14 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as she played 21 total games. Adams shot 48.9% from the floor, 66.7% (2-for-3) from three and 72% from the free throw line. She led the team in blocked shots with 34 while she also had 43 assists and 37 steals.
 
Adams set Spartan highs of 23 points and 14 rebounds against Lake Forest in Daytona Beach, Florida on December 30. She reached double figures in scoring in 19 of her 21 games including her final 14 straight games in a collegiate uniform. Adams had seven double-doubles for the Spartans during the year.
 
Spartan head coach Betsy Witman must replace Hocker and Adams but does welcome back Grim and a core of underclassmen who will play a key role for the Spartans in 2025-26.
