YORK, PA – York College sophomore women's wrestler Maura White has been named the OSS Health Spartan Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department today.
 
White continued her stellar second campaign in the Green and White as she went 2-0 in York's lone two matches of the week. She claimed an 8-1 win over Lock Haven's Paige Jackson in the 138-pound bout on Sunday. White scored a pair of take downs during the match to earn the individual win.
 
She followed that up with a 10-0 technical fall win over Delaware Valley's Olivia Ball as the Spartans picked up their ninth win in 12 dual meets.
 
White improved to 28-7 with the two wins for the Spartans including 9-2 in dual meets. White has posted 15 wins via fall, the second most on the team. She owns an impressive 48-14 mark in her first two years in the Green and White.
 
White and her Spartan teammates will now be off until February 22 when they travel to East Stroudsburg, PA to compete in the NCWWC Region Two Championships hosted by East Stroudsburg.
