Women's Wrestling Derek Behrenshausen - Asst. Director of Athletic Communications

Six Women’s Wrestlers Garner Scholar All-American Status

MANHEIM, Pa. - Six members of the York College women's wrestling program earned Scholar All-American honors awarded by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) for their academic and athletic success throughout the season.

Allison Brandt - Sophomore - PreMedical Sciences
Ashley Knapp - Sophomore - Nursing
Emma Lavalle - Sophomore - Mechanical Engineering
Lexi Mazzella - Junior - Nursing
Rebekah Patzke - Sophomore - Exercise Science
Maura White - Sophomore - Mechanical Engineering

These outstanding student-athletes have demonstrated excellence both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting one of the following academic and athletic criteria:
- A top-eight finisher at nationals with at least a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- A national qualifier with at least a 3.25 Cumulative GPA
- Competed in a minimum of 15 matches with at least a 3.5 Cumulative GPA

Brandt, Lavalle and White all qualified for nationals and were mainstays in the Spartan lineup throughout the season. White won a regional title and also led the team with 32 wins on the season. Knapp, Mazzella and Patzke fell short of qualifying for the national tournament, but all wrestled in over 15 matches throughout the season in addition to being outstanding performers in the classroom.

Lavalle, Patzke and White are all two-time NWCA Scholar All-Americans, while the other three Spartan selections were honored for the first time. The six honorees is a new program record for the Green and White.
