Men’s Swimming Wins Spartan Splash

YORK, Pa. - The York College men's swimming team won five of 10 events with eight top-three performances on the final day of the Third Annual Spartan Splash on Sunday.

The Spartans captured their first team title at the Spartan Splash after finishing second the last two seasons. York ran away to victory with 952 points, followed by Arcadia (531), Widener (493.5), Stevenson (451), Elizabethtown (422.5), Messiah (391) and Hood (119).

The Spartans finished 1-2-3 in the 100 free with Bryan Collins leading the way with the winning pace of 45.73, followed by Brenden Stuhltrager (47.11) and Nick Bordovsky (48.07).

Bryce Miller swept the backstroke events on the weekend after finishing first in the 200 back on Sunday with a time of 1:52.42.

Cooper Stiles swept the breaststroke events for the weekend after he finished first in the 200 breast on Sunday with a personal-best time of 2:08.16.

Ben Stambaugh led off the day with a victory in the 1650 free as he touched the wall with a personal-best time of 17:03.37.

In addition to their individual heroics, Miller, Stuhltrager, Bordovsky and Collins teamed up to win the 400 free relay to close out the weekend.
