Spartan Women Start Strong at Spartan Splash

Isabella Klemm Nabs NCAA B Cut and Took Down Two School Records

YORK, Pa. - The York College women's swimming team won all five events and sits in first place out of seven teams after day one of the Spartan Splash on Friday.

The Spartans finished day one with 223 points, followed by Messiah (219), Arcadia (152), Widener (139) and Elizabethtown (126) in the top-five.

Isabella Klemm put together a tremendous day from start to finish as she captured an NCAA B Cut in the morning timed trials and lowered two school records in the evening. Klemm posted a time of 1:03.11 in the 100 breaststroke during a timed trial to meet the NCAA provisional standard. During the 200 freestyle relay, the senior recorded a split time of 24.30 which lowers the school record of 24.33 set by Maddy Mann in 2019. Klemm capped off the day by winning the 200 IM and lowering her own school record with a pace of 2:06.87.

In addition to Klemm's record-setting split, Camden Perella, Annie Custis and Lauren Weiss teamed up to post a winning time of 1:39.43 in the 200 freestyle relay.

The same trio of Custis, Klemm and Perella with the addition of Annika Doutrich teamed up to capture first place in the 400 medley relay.

Doutrich and Custis also nabbed individual wins on the day with Doutrich finishing first in the 500 free for the third-straight meet and Custis claiming first in the 50 free for the fourth time this season.
