Burrows Named the MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week

Burrows earns the weekly award for the second time this season

YORK, PA - York College sophomore forward Claire Burrows has been named the MAC Commonwealth Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. 

Burrows led the #19 Spartans to a pair of wins this week as York snapped a three-game losing streak. 

Burrows began the week with a goal in the road win at Cortland. Burrows scored a big insurance goal in York's 2-0 win. 

Burrows then had a career day on Saturday in the MAC Commonwealth win at Albright. Burrows tallied eight points on three goals and two assists. She opened the scoring for the Spartans 2:14 into the second half. She scored again right before the half to push the lead to 4-0. Burrows notched her third goal just after halftime for the Spartans. 

Burrows three goals and two assists were both career highs for the sophomore. The eight points ranks second on the Spartans single-game list. 

For the season, Burrows has 16 points on six goals and four assists in 12 games. Two of her goals are game-winners for the Green and White.
