READING, PA – The York College women's track & field squad had a good day at the Alvernia Winter Invitational in Reading, PA on Saturday. The meet was a non-scoring team meet.
York had three relay teams earn top eight finishes while six individuals earned top ten placements.
The Spartans had strong showings out of their relay teams. The 3x800 relay team consisting of
Amiah Barner,
Angelina Hammond,
Lindsay Fry, and
Taylor Wickard posted a strong third place finish, combining for a time of 11:02.92. The 4x400 relay team of
Kayla Reidenbaugh,
Alexis Seymour,
Isabel Tenney, and
Megan Fique earned a fifth place finish for the Green and White with a time of 4:34.17.
Sophomore
Hailey Sherwood and junior
Sofia Harnois each earned a top eight finish in the weight throw. Sherwood placed fifth with a best throw of 13.61 meters while Harnois was seventh with a best toss of 13.15 meters.
Tenney recorded an eighth place finish in the 400 meter run, crossing the line in a time of 1:04.03. Senior
Payton Mann was tenth in the same event with a time of 1:05.56. Fry earned a ninth place finish in the one mile run with a time of 5:40.19.
Freshman
Alita Paragon was York's final top ten finisher as she was tenth in the pole vault with a best height of 3.2 meters.

The Spartans will have back-to-back competitions next weekend. The Spartans will take a select group of athletes to Widener on Friday for the Widener Invitational at University of Pennsylvania. York will then head to the Coach I Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Franklin & Marshall, in Lancaster.
