Spartan Women Complete Day One of MAC Championships

YORK, Pa. – The York women's track and field team sits in 10th place out of 12 teams after day one of the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by York College on Thursday.

Top Performances
Hailey Sherwood had the top individual performance of the day for the Spartans as she finished seventh in the hammer and scored a pair of team points. Sherwood also broke her own school record which she set at last season's championship meet with a new top throw of 44.59m, surpassing her old record mark of 44.05m. 

The Spartans had two other top-10 finishers in the hammer throw. Zoe Myers finished ninth with a personal-best throw of 43.07m and Sofia Harnois finished 10th with a personal-best toss of 42.91.

York picked up three points as in the 4x800m relay as the team finished sixth. Kayla Reidenbaugh, Alexis Seymour, Sara Brass and Isabel Tenney posted a season-best time of 10:10.39.

The Spartans return to competition on Friday with a full slate of events for day two of the MAC Championships. Field events get under way at 11 a.m. with track events starting at 11:15 a.m.
