York Men Set Two School Records at Alvernia

The 4x800 relay team and Aidan Rollinson set new school marks in Reading Saturday

READING, PA – The York College men's track & field squad had a record setting day on Saturday in Reading at the Alvernia Winter Invite.
The Spartans set a pair of school records in the non-scoring meet. The first record came from the 4x800 relay team of Pierce Nolan, Joshua Smoot, Seth Topfer, and Tyler Hunt as they crossed the line in a time of 8:15.33 to finish second. The previous record was set in 2014.
The second record came from junior Aidan Rollinson as he won the weight throw with a best distance of 17.39 meters. That broke Rollinson's own record set last February. Rollinson has now won the weight throw in the last two meets.
Freshman Brayden Ecker earned his second straight win as he was victorious in the pole vault with a best height of 4.30 meters. Brody Weachter finished fifth in the pole vault while Sam Dickmyer also earned a top eight finish in the event.
Shaun Apsley finished eighth in the 400 meter run while Hamed Diallo was tenth in the 200 meter dash as they were York's other top ten finishers.
The 4x200 relay team of Quincy Hardison, Brody Bonham, Diallo, and Kyle Friend teamed up to finish second in the event with a time of 1:34.32.
