Spartan Track & Field Competes at AARTFC Indoor Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Five members of the York College men's and women's track and field team competed at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory.

Freshman Trinity Batista had the top performance for the Spartans as she finished second in the high jump. Her personal-best height of 1.67m also vaulted her to 19th in Division III this season which is one spot inside the 20-spot cut off for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. The official list of national qualifiers will be announced Sunday, March 8 at 7 p.m.

Aidan Rollinson nabbed a 10th-place finish in the weight throw with a season-best throw of 17.05m which ranks third in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Joshua Smoot put together a record-setting performance as he finished 17th in the 800m. Smoot's time of 1:56.60 took down the previous school record time of 1:57.91 which has stood since 2017.

Sperra Vittor finished 20th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.32 and Angela Nuse finished 25th in the 60m dash with a time of 7.95.

The NCAA NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships are set for March 13-14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.

The Spartans will open their outdoor season on March 21 at the LVC Mini Meet hosted by Lebanon Valley College.
