FLEETWOOD, PA – The York College women's golf squad closed out their 2023 spring regular season with a win as they were victorious at the Golden Oaks Invitational on Wednesday. The tournament was a preview for next week's MAC Championship at the course. The win was York's sixth of the campaign and third of their spring season.
The Spartans shot 329 as a team to cruise to the tournament championship. Hood finished second with a score of 371 followed by FDU-Florham at 454. Eastern (469) and Ursinus (472) rounded out the full teams who were participating.
Freshman
Grace Strickland earned her second career victory as she shot a three-over-par 75 to win the tournament by four strokes. Strickland's 75 sets a new career-low round in her 14
th collegiate round.
Senior
Natalie Robson finished third with a nine-over-par 81 for her seventh top five finish of the year.
Freshman
Tori Blanc finished fifth as she carded an 84 for the round. The finish is Blanc's fifth top-five finish of the year. Freshmen
Vivian D'Orazi and
Jessica Shay finished tied for eighth in the tournament as they both shot 89. The top ten finish for both was the third for both D'Orazi and Shay.
The Spartans are now off until they start the 2023 MAC Championships on Saturday, April 29 at Golden Oaks Country Club. The two-day championship kicks off at noon on Saturday. The Spartans have won the last two MAC Championship tournaments.
