STAFFORD, VA – The York College women's golf team cruised to a team championship at the Augustine Intercollegiate Invitational at the Augustine Golf Club in Stafford, Virginia this weekend.
The Spartans finished the two day tournament with a team score of 642 as they shot 324 on Friday followed by a 318 on Saturday. The Spartans easily outdistanced Catholic as the Cardinals finished second at 697 followed by Arcadia (766) in third.
In addition to the team championship, senior All-American
Natalie Robson won her fifth career collegiate championship and her first this year.
Robson began her tournament with a school-record 71 as she owned the first-round lead by ten strokes. She followed that with a seven-over-par 78 on Saturday to finished with a career-low 149 in the tournament, besting her previous career low of 153 set in 2020-21 and matched in 2021-22. Robson's 71 beat her previous low collegiate round by two strokes. That 73 came at the Arcadia Conference Preview on April 21, 2021 at Golden Oaks Golf Club. Robson's 71 breaks

Freshman
Tori Blanc finished second behind Robson as she shot a two-day total of 159. Blanc carded an 82 in Friday's opening round and then shot a tournament best 77 on Saturday. Her tournament score of 159 sets a new career standard, besting her previous tournament low of 161 by two shots.
Fellow freshman
Grace Strickland had a strong showing as she placed third with a tournament total of 163. Strickland shot 86 on Friday but bounced back with a career-low 77 on Saturday as she tied Blanc for Saturday's best score.
Freshman
Vivian D'Orazi was York's fourth tournament finisher as she placed seventh overall with a tournament score of 171. D'Orazi shot 85 on Friday followed by an 86 on Saturday. Her tournament score of 171 is six strokes better than her previous best tournament score while the 85 ties her previous low collegiate round.
Jessica Shay was York's fifth tournament participant as she placed 12
th with a score of 177. Shay shot 86 on Friday and followed that with a 91 on Saturday.
The tournament title is the fourth of the year for the Spartans.
York returns to action on April 11 when they head to Ledgerock Golf Club to play in the Alvernia Spring Invitational in Mohnton, PA. The one-day tournament is set for a noon start.
