IJAMSVILLE, MD – The York College women's golf squad closed out their season with a win at the PB Dye Fall Preview hosted by Hood College at the Club at PB Dye in Ijamsville, MD.
The Spartans shot a team total of 369 to win the event. The host Blazers shot a 388 to finish 19 strokes behind the Green and White.
Freshman
Grace Strickland posted her first collegiate win as she fired a nine-over-par 81 at the par 72 course. Fellow freshman
Tori Blanc finished second as she was five strokes back of Strickland with an 86. Freshman
Jessica Shay was York's third tournament participant as she shot a 101 to tie for eighth. Freshman
Brooke Zajac finished tied with Shay as she also shot a 101.
Freshman
Vivian D'Orazi was York's fifth starter as she shot 103, tying for 10
th.
York had a trio of individuals in the tournament headed by freshman
Evelyn Stahl as she made her collegiate debut with a 95 to finish fourth overall. Senior
Taylor Devine had a good day as she tied for sixth with a 99. Sophomore
Olivia Schenk rounded out the Spartans' tournament participants as she shot a 104 to finished 12
th in the field.
The Spartans were without the services of senior All-American
Natalie Robson who was forced to miss the tournament due to injury.
The Green and White are now off until March when the resume the season with their spring 2023 schedule. The schedule will be released in early December.
