How it happened

The Spartans came out fast and furious to start the game as they outshot the Dutchmen, 19-3, in the first quarter and found the back of the net five times. Brendan O'Sullivan led the way with a pair of first-quarter tallies, while Jacob Wilhelm also got involved with a goal and assist in the first 15 minutes.

York turned up the pressure even more in the second quarter, taking on seven more goals while shutting out LVC for the second-straight quarter. Vinny Facciponti had a big quarter for the Spartans as he went 5-for-6 at the face-off X and tallied a pair of goals. Jack Michael kept his clean sheet intact with three saves, while each of York's top defensemen and defensive midfielders caused a turnover in the quarter.

The Spartans rolled through their lines in the second half, getting contributions from and up and down the roster. Ethan Fought opened the second-half scoring after a man-up tally in the first half to register his first-career multi-goal game. Freshman Kevin McQuade closed out the scoring with a last-minute goal to record his first-career point for the Green and White. Freshmen defenders Tyler Morgan and Ryan Gass also got involved as they each posted their first-career caused turnovers in the second half.
