Box Score ST. DAVID'S, PA – The sixth-ranked York College men's lacrosse team played for the first time in a week and showed little rust as the ran past Eastern University 19-6 in a MAC Commonwealth contest in a rainy St. David's, PA on Wednesday. The Spartans improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Commonwealth. Eastern falls to 2-2 and 1-1 in the league.
How It Happened
• The Spartans wasted little time in getting on the board as Vinny Facciponti won the first face-off and Dylan Wolf put home York's first shot of the game for the opening goal just one minute into the contest. Then something happened to York that hasn't happened all year as an opponent got a first quarter goal. Eastern's Nicholas Fanelli netted the equalizer with 11:37 remaining in the quarter. The Spartans recaptured the lead off a turnover as Connor Madsen found Gavin Dembeck for his first goal of the game at the 9:49 mark.
• Eastern tied the game at two on a Connor Killion goal at the 5:27 mark of the first quarter. The Spartans responded with four straight goals to end the quarter as they took a 6-2 lead after 15 minutes of play. Dembeck, Wolf, Ames Clark, and Chandler Schmidt scored the goals to end the quarter. Goalie Jack Michael contributed four saves during the quarter to keep Eastern at bay.
• York couldn't have had a better second quarter as they outscored Eagles 6-0 while they outshot their hosts 15-2. Jacob Wilhelm, Schmidt, Eric Ranck, Wolf, Will Harnick, and Brendan O'Sullivan scored in the quarter for the Green and White.
• The Spartans scored the first goal of the third quarter as York extended its run to 11 straight goals as they led 13-2. Eastern halted the Spartan spurt with another Killion goal at the 11:22 mark. The teams would trade goals as the Spartans led 15-4 on another Dembeck tally with 5:16 left in the quarter. O'Sullivan and Clark closed out the quarter with goals as York took a 17-4 lead to the fourth.
• The teams traded fourth quarter goals as the Eagles scored at the final horn to provide the final 19-6 Spartan margin of victory.

York was paced offensively by the tandem of Dylan Wolf and Gavin Dembeck as they each notched four goals while Wolf also had an assist for a team-high five points … Brendan O'Sullivan chipped in with three goals while Ames Clark and Chandler Schmidt each had a pair of tallies … sophomore Vinny Facciponti had another good day at the X as he was 15-for-24 in face offs with five ground balls … senior Noah Bruno matched Facciponti with five ground balls for York while he also had a team-high three caused turnovers … senior LSM Tyler Nation had four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers … junior Jack Michael earned the win in goal as he is now 4-0 … Michael allowed four goals and made six saves in 47:10 in net.

York opened the season at home and won't play at home again until they host Stevens on April 3 ... York will go almost a full month between home games.
