How it Happened:
• Just 1:36 into the game, Southern Virginia scored to take the early lead on a Casey Rich goal. It didn't take the Spartans long to react, though, and with authority. York scored less than two minutes later when Dillon Hannah started an 18-0 explosion for York that would stretch into the third quarter. Sixteen different Spartans scored in the game. Brendan McGrath led York with six points on five goals and an assist. After giving up the first goal, the Spartans finished the first period with an 8-1 lead, and looked in control.
• Hannah again led off the scoring for York, he would finish with three goals. The Green and White scored seven more in the second quarter as Hunter Davis scored twice. Again the defense held SVU without a goal, entering the break up 15-1.
• York outscored the Knights 5-2 in the third quarter. Five different players scored in the quarter for York. In the fourth, York added five more from four different players, Gunnar Reynolds was the lone repeat scorer. Southern Virginia managed six goals in the final period, but York was still able to cruise to a 25-9 victory.
