How it Happened:
• Conrad Ordakowski opened the scoring for York just 23 seconds into the first quarter, giving the Spartans an early lead they would not let up. They doubled up their lead just over three minutes later, when Landry Marshall came sprinting out of his net, successfully clearing by himself then feeding Thomas Pfeiffer, who would bury his chance. On an extra-man opportunity, Hunter Davis received a pass from Brendan McGrath, who would score twice on the day in addition to an assist, and scored to make it 3-0. Before the end of the first quarter, York was already up 5-0 behind Austin Glab and Brad Casale goals.
• CNU notched their first goal of the game 4:32 into the second quarter, but were quickly hit with two straight Spartan goals, from McGrath and Matt Whitcher. At the break, York led 7-2.
• The Spartans dominated the third quarter, scoring all four of the goals. Glab, McGrath and Casale all scored their second while Dillon Hannah netted his first of the game. Cameron Leech finished the scoring for the Spartans in the fourth quarter, while CNU scored five in the final frame, but York still cruised to a 12-7 victory in an impressive bounce back performance from their first loss in 10 games.
