How it Happened:
• It was a slow start for the Spartans, despite scoring the first goal less than five minutes into the game. Marymount had more of the ball early after winning the first three face offs to start the game. Cameron Leech scored the first goal of the game, and with 2:07 remaining in the opening quarter, Brendan McGrath doubled the Spartans' lead.

• Seventeen seconds into the second quarter, Nathan Beard cut the York lead in half on an extra-man opportunity for Marymount. From there, the defending CAC champions blitzed the Saints with nine goals in the quarter, exploding to an 11-2 lead at the halftime break. McGrath scored twice and assisted on another, while Leech, Joseph Joseph, Thomas Pfeiffer, Hunter Davis, Ryan Cook, Brett Altenburg and Brad Casale notched goals for the Green and White in the second quarter. After losing the first three face offs, Billy Sasso rebounded by winning seven of the next eight in the second quarter, which proved to be vital. On two occasions, York scored less than 30 seconds after their previous goal. Pfieffer's goal came just 17 seconds after Joseph's, and Leech's came 24 seconds after McGrath's first of the period. The nine-goal quarter closed in on a school-record 11 recorded against Southern Virginia on April 4, 2014.

• Marymount made it 11-3 almost halfway through the third quarter, but Davis responded 27 seconds later, boosting the lead back to nine. Joseph scored his second with 1:19 left in the quarter before Marymount got one back with 18 seconds left.

• Three Spartan goals came within the first three minutes of the final quarter, seeing goals from Tyler Davis, J.D. Beck and Gunnar Reynolds, their firsts of the season. Cody Sweeney also added a goal, from a Tyler Davis assist for York's 17th goal of the game, their second-highest total of the year. The fifth-ranked Spartans finished off Marymount 17-6.
