Box Score YORK, PA – The York College men's lacrosse team bounced back from their first loss of the year with a 15-5 over Marymount University in York's Capital Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday night in Arlington, Virginia. The Spartans, who are ranked fourth in the country, improve to 8-1 overall and are now 1-0 in the league. The Saints fall to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
How it happened:
• The Spartans got off to another fast start as they scored the first three goals of the game in the opening nine minutes of the game. Thomas Pfeiffer, Joe Lomady, and Hunter Davis all found the back of the net for the Spartans to open the scoring.
• Marymount got on the board with a Dylan Handel goal at the 5:51 mark of the first quarter. Andrew Gamble closed out the first quarter scoring with a man-up goal with 3:34 left in the quarter.
• The Saints cut their deficit to 4-2 with a Josh McIvor goal just over two minutes into the second quarter.
• York responded by scoring three straight goals to end the first half as they pushed out to a 7-2 lead. Gamble scored twice while Cameron Leech also scored as the Spartans started to pull away.
• The Spartan run continued to start the third quarter as York outscored Marymount 4-0 in the period including three goals in the final 50 seconds of the stanza turning the game into a rout. Austin Glab, Matt Whitcher, Joseph Joseph, and Dillon Hannah scored goals for the Spartans in the third quarter.
• The Spartans scored the first goal of the fourth quarter as Nick Magnusson pushed the York lead to 12-2.
• Marymount trimmed the Spartan lead to 12-4 with back to back goals from Matt Justice and Bruan McManus.
• York scored three of the final four goals of the game to finish with the 10 goal margin of victory. Joey Fiorino scored twice during the spurt for York.

The Spartans opened their CAC slate with a win for the third straight season … York has gone 3-2 in CAC openers under head coach Brandon Childs ... Childs tied former head coach Jim Griffin for first on the all-time coaching wins list as he is now 56-26 overall in the midst of his fifth season… Griffin was 56-49 in seven years at the helm of the program … York improves to 12-6 against Marymount as the Spartans have won 12 straight against the Saints … York had 12 different goal scorers in the game while they had 13 different players record at least one point … the 15 goals in the game were the sixth double digit goal effort for the Spartans this year … York put 26 of their 41 shots on goal … the Spartans outshot Marymount 41-19 and held a 21-13 edge in ground balls … York forced 20 Marymount turnovers with 10 of those miscued being caused turnovers … the 10 caused turnovers marked the fourth time this year that York has reached double figures in the category … York got their ninth man up goal of the year with Gamble's first quarter tally … Hunter Davis kept his point streak alive with a goal and an assist as he has now scored a point in all nine of his collegiate games … Freshman Austin Glab has scored 10 points in his last three games with seven of those points coming on assists … Andrew Gamble is now 10 points short of 200 for his career as he has 190 points on 130 goals and 60 assists in 66 games.

What's Next
York returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Mary Washington in Capital Athletic Conference action at Kinsley Field. The game is slated for a 1:00 pm start at Kinsley Field. The game will be the first of two straight before York opens April with a three-game road trip.
