Mergler served a corner kick into the box. Sipes
banged home the pass with a brilliant header in the 20th
minute as York seized the early lead. It could have been a bigger
lead for York at the half but Wesley keeper Sydney Kahan recorded
five saves to keep the Spartan advantage at 1-0.
York wasted little time in extending the lead in the second half
as Sipes struck again, this time it was an unassisted goal, just
2:13 into the second 45 minutes of play.
Sipes completed the hat trick just over ten minutes later as
Mergler banged a shot off the post that Sipes calmly collected the
loose ball and one-timed a shot past Kahan for the 3-0 Spartan
lead.

the Wolverines 25-6 while they also held a 9-6 edge in corner
kicks.
