York Women’s Golf Finishes 26th at NCAA Championship

PALM DESERT, Calif. - The York women's golf team concluded their stay at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday at Desert Willow Golf Resort by finishing 26th out of 34 teams.

The Spartans fell outside of the top-15 team cut line which sorted out to 39 strokes over par. York posted a round two score of 320 on the par-72 Mountain View Course which brought their 36-hole score to 625 at 69 strokes over par.

Sophomore Ava Johnsen led the way for York for the second-straight day after carding her second-consecutive 76 (+4) with a pair of birdies. The sophomore finished her first trip to nationals in a tie for 50th place out of 176 golfers with a total score of 152 (+8).

Junior Victoria Jolakian fired an 80 (+8) on Wednesday with a birdie on the eighth hole. Jolakian finished the tournament with a total score of 159 at 15 strokes over par.

Senior Grace Strickland closed out her career on Wednesday by firing an 83 (+11) with a birdie on the first hole. Strickland finished the tournament with a 36-hole score of 165  to finish 21 strokes over par.

Junior Lily Davis picked up seven strokes on her first round by carding an 81 (+9) in round two to finish with a 36-hole score of 169 (+25).

Senior Vivian D'Orazi completed the Spartan lineup while wrapping up her career on Wednesday by carding an 87 (+15) and compiled a two-round score of 177 (+33).
