Spartans Open New Year with Two Wins at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. - The York College women's track and field team opened the new year with two wins and 21 top-five performances at the Kaye and JJ Smith Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University on Sunday.

Highlights
Spartans finished 1-2-3 in the 800m with Isabel Tenney leading the way with a winning time of 2:25.90 which ranks third in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) this season. Kayla Reidenbaugh finished second in the 800m and Sierra Blaker took third.

The Spartans also went 1-2-3 in the high jump with Trinity Batista-Anderson winning the event with a height of 1.53m which ranks fifth in the MAC this season. Kasandra Gaizick finished second in the high jump and Madison O'Brien came in third.

Angela Nuse set a new personal record and now owns the third-best time in the 60m dash with a time of 8.01 seconds as she finished third in the event.

O'Brien (60H, HJ), Gaizick (HJ, LJ), Sperra Vittor (60H, LJ), Zada Marine (SP, WT) and Sofia Harnois (WT, SP) all nabbed multiple top-five finishes on the day.
