Spartans Nab Two Titles at AARTFC Indoor Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. – The York track and field teams nabbed a pair of titles at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships hosted by Ithaca College on Friday and Saturday.

The Spartan men's team finished tied for ninth out of 37 teams which is the highest finish in program history.

Graduate thrower Andrew Mott defended his AARTFC indoor shot put title and did so with a new personal-best and school record throw of 17.14m. His throw is now the eighth-best in the nation this season and puts him in possession to earn a national qualification for the second-straight season.

Freshman Brayden Ecker captured the pole vault title in his first-career appearance at the AARTFC Indoor Championships. Ecker won the event with a height of 4.76m which is a new school record and moves up to 29th in the nation this season.

Junior Aidan Rollinson scored a pair of points for the men's team with a seventh-place finish in the weight throw, improving upon his 17th-place finish last season. Rollinson captured seventh place with a throw of 16.79m.

Senior Tyler Hunt made his AARTFC Indoor Championship debut and finished 18th in the 5K with a time of 15:45.63.

Freshman Alita Paragon was the lone female representative for the Spartans as she competed in the pole vault. The rookie finished 13th in the event with a height of 3.17m.
