Mott Sets MAC Record in Outdoor Season Opener

CHESTER, Pa. – The York College men's track and field team opened the outdoor season with nine top-10 performances and a new conference record at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University on Friday and Saturday.

Top Performers
Graduate Andrew Mott nabbed a pair first-place finishes on Friday in the discus throw and shot put. He rewrote his own Middle Atlantic Conference and school record in the discus with a throw of 55.57m which surpassed his previous personal-best throw of 53.42m set in 2023. Mott also put together a strong performance in the shot put with a winning throw of 16.84m to finish 1.68m ahead of his next competitor.

A trio of Spartans captured fifth place in various events with Tyler Hunt in the steeplechase, Brody Weachter in the pole vault and Nick Bordovsky in the shot put. Bordovsky posted a personal-best throw with a distance of 14.61m which surpassed his previous best by 1.35m.

Sophomore Ethan Jones set a new personal record in the javelin with a throw of 52.52m to take 10th place.
