Heie, Vittor Claim Victories in Season Opener at F&M

LANCASTER, Pa. - The York College women's track and field team opened the indoor season at the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin and Marshall College on Friday evening.

York captured a pair of victories with a total of seven top-five performances on the night.

Both Spartan victories occurred in the jumps with Taylor Heie taking first in the pole vault and Sperra Vittor posting the farthest leap in the long jump. Vittor also nabbed second place in the 60m hurdles.

Angela Nuse had one of the best performances on the track for York as she took second in the 60m.

Alita Paragon joined Heie in the top-five for the pole vault as she finished second.

A pair of Spartan throwers nabbed top-five spots with Zada Marine finishing third in the shot put and Sofia Harnois taking fourth in the weight throw

The Spartans will return to competition on January 11 at the Kaye and JJ Smith Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University.
