FARMINGTON, PA – The York College women's golf team finished 13^th of 15 teams at the highly competitive Tartan Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon University at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans shot 325 on Monday and followed that with a 328 on Tuesday for a total 653 for their 13^th place finish. Emory won the team title with a score of 557 as they cruised to a eight shot win over NYU. Carnegie Mellon finished third at 571 while Washington-St. Louis (574) was fourth and Washington and Lee was fifth at 588.

Senior Grace Strickland led the Spartans as she placed tied for 48^th with a score of 159. Strickland shot a five-over-par 77 on Monday. She had three straight birdies to finish two-over on the front. She had one birdie on the back as she carded a 39. On Tuesday, Strickland was even better on the front with a one-over 37. She scuffled on the back nine with a nine-over-par 45.

Sophomore Ava Johnsen was York's next finisher as she tied for 51^st with a score of 160. Johnsen shot 83 on Monday as she went 38 on the front followed by 45 on the back. On Tuesday, Johnsen improved by six strokes with a five-over 77. Johnsen shot 38 on the front and 39 on the back for her 77.

Junior Lily Davis was York's third scorer as she shot a two-day total of 166 to tie for 66th. Davis shot 84 on Monday with a 42 on the front and a matching 42 on the back. Davis shot 82 on Monday with a 42 on the front and 40 on the back.

Senior Vivian D'Orazi was York's fourth scorer in the tournament. D'Orazi tied for 71^st with a two-day score of 170. D'Orazi carded an 81 on Monday with a 40 on the front and a 41 on the back. She followed that with an 89 on Tuesday with a 44 on the front and a 45 on the back.

Sophomore Samiya Bodalia placed 79^th of 84 with a score of 179. Bodalia shot 92 on Monday with a 42 on the front and a 50 on the back. Bodalia made a five stroke improvement on Tuesday with a 43 on the front and a 44 on the back.

The Spartans close out their fall season on Sunday, October 19 and Monday, October 20 when they host the Spartan Shootout at the Royal Manchester Golf Links in Manchester, PA.
