How It Happened
  • The Spartans ripped off six-straight victories and secured the dual win before the Blue Jays finally got on the board with victory at 174. York used bonus points in four of the first six bouts to seal the deal just past the midway point of the match.
  • Jared Kuhns got things going in the right direction with four takedowns and 2:48 in riding time on his way to a victory at 125. Dalton Rohrbaugh kept things rolling with a first-period fall at 133. Tyson McDuffy tilted Yosef Ellis-rech four times before finally getting the necessary points to score the technical fall at 3:51 and give York a big jolt of momentum.
  • Jared Bair kept that momentum rolling as the match moved into the middleweights. Bair notched the second fall of the night for the Spartans and did so in just 45 seconds against Jack Albin. Eric Hutchinson captured the fourth bonus win of the dual with four takedowns and nearly four minutes of riding time in an 11-1 victory over Chris Roybal at 157. Timmy Sparks sealed the dual win for York three takedowns and over a minute of riding time in a win over Jared Osborne at 165.
  • Hopkins finally got on the board with a technical fall at 174 as the Blue Jays won three of the final four bouts. Camden Farrow put one more notch in the win column for the Spartans with a second-period fall at 197. Farrow escaped from bottom to start the second and then scored a takedown before quickly sticking John Libby to the mat at 3:47.
