- After a scoreless back-and-forth first half, freshman forward Sam Collis found pay dirt as she found the back of the net in the 50thminute of the match off an assist from fellow freshman Peyton Martino.
 
- The Hornets knotted it up at 1-1 when Kayla Alderman finished off a Taylor Hayes assist in the 66thminute.
 
- Only two minutes and seven seconds later, the Hornets struck again when Megan Stevens finally found the back of the net after 8 previous shots on goal ensuring the 2-1 victory.
