Four Spartans Earn All-Commonwealth Field Hockey Honors

NEWTOWN, Pa. - Four members of the York College field hockey team earned All-MAC Commonwealth honors as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office on Monday.

Olivia Miller - Midfielder - Junior
Becca Olsen - Defender - Junior

Kelbie Linebaugh - Forward - Sophomore
Jade Haines - Defender - Junior

Olivia Miller proved to be one of the top two-way midfielders in the conference as evidence of her first-team selection. The Spartan captain netted four goals on the season, three of which came in key wins over No. 22 Swarthmore, Alvernia and Messiah. Her tally against Messiah came in the final 10 minutes of play and held up as the game-winner in a big road win over the Falcons.

Becca Olsen led the Spartan defense and ranked fifth in the conference with six defensive saves on the year. She also got involved offensively with a goal and two assists. Olsen and fellow all-conference teammate Jade Haines headlined a Spartan defensive unit that only allowed 1.24 goals per game and posted five shutouts on the season. Haines also posed an offensive threat in addition to her defensive prowess as she handed five assists which ranked second on the team this season.

Kelbie Linebaugh led the Spartans with 23 points on 11 goals and one assist. Her 23 points ranked eighth in the league this year, while her 11 goals finished tied for fourth. The Spartan forward posted four multi-goal games this season in wins over Scranton, St. Mary's, Albright and Widener.

This group helped lead the Spartans to a second-place finish in the Commonwealth regular season standings for the fifth-consecutive season and helped the Green and White to a top-25 ranking each week in the NFHCA poll.
