How It Happened:
• The Spartans ripped off the first five goals of the game as they immediately seized control of the game. It took York a mere 38 seconds to find the back of the cage as Dillon Hannah opened the scoring for York. Thomas Pfeiffer made it 2-0 just 27 seconds later as the Green and White offense was clicking early.
• Hannah struck for his second goal at the 8:57 mark and that started a three-goal flurry that covered just 1:39 of game time. Pfeiffer scored the second goal on the run while Matt Whitcher added his first goal of the game.
• Nazareth got on the board with a Jeremy Jacob goal with 4:35 left in the first quarter to close out the scoring in the opening period.
• Junior Hunter Davis notched the opening tally of the second period with his 13th goal of the year off a pass from Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer then made it 7-1 with his third goal of the game 32 second later as Davis fed him for the man up goal.
• After Nazareth recorded a man up goal of their own, Whitcher took over for the Spartans. The senior captain ripped off four straight goals as the York lead grew to 11-2. His third goal in the run came with three seconds left in the first half and his fourth goal came just over five minutes into the third quarter.
• Whitcher's personal four goal spurt kicked off a sustained 10-0 Spartan run that carried the Green and White almost entirely through the remainder game as the Golden Flyers got a Jacob Gray goal with 30 seconds left in the game.
• Junior Jacob Laubner came into the Spartan goal late and tallied a career-high eight saves in his 9:36 in cage.
