MARY'S CITY, MD – Sophomore forward Nathan Bilbie found the back of the net in the 88th minute to give the York College men's soccer team a 1-0 win over third-seeded St. Mary's College in the opening round of the 2016 Capital Athletic Conference on Saturday in Maryland. The Spartans now advance to the CAC semifinals for the first time in the tenure of Spartan head coach Evan Scheffey.

How It Happened
• The game was physical and hard-fought from the beginning. The two squads were meeting for the second time in four days after the Seahawks defeated York 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon in St. Mary's City.
• St. Mary's got on a roll early as they fired off the first four shots of the game with one of those attempts being on target, forcing Spartan goalie Charlie Johnson to register the save.
• York's first shot came from Matt Freibaum in the 20th minute but the shot was wide.
• The Seahawks would hold a 9-4 edge in first half shots while York had a 2-1 margin in corner kicks. Charlie Johnson had three first half saves for York. The Spartans had eight first half fouls while St. Mary's had six.
• The physical play continued to escalate in the second half. The Seahawks drew three yellow cards within a four-minute span early in the second half.
• York got back to back shots on goal 14 seconds apart in the 62nd minute as Freibaum and Nathan Bilbie managed to fire a pair of shots on target.
• St. Mary's had a pair of corner kicks a little over a minute apart late in regulation but the Seahawks wouldn't be able to produce a shot on either attempt.
• The Spartans finally broke the scoreless tie in the 88th minute as Barak Amige hit a pass to Bilbie who finished the chance for his sixth goal of the year, giving York go-ahead goal with 2:38 left in regulation.
• The goal started some fireworks as the Seahawks were issued a red card and a yellow card in the final 2:20 in the game.
