SELINSGROVE, PA-The York College men's soccer team closed out their 2007 regular season with a 2-1 win at Susquehanna University on a damp Tuesday evening in Selinsgrove, PA. The Spartans finished a strenuous regular season with an impressive mark of 17-1 as they are currently ranked third in the d3kicks.com national poll. The Crusaders fall to 8-6-1 with the loss.

The green and white got on the board first as freshman Lucas Emil (Parsippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) drew out Crusader goalie Matthew Glackin before sliding a pass to senior Jason Mancuso (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) who promptly one-timed the ball past Glackin for the tally. The goal came in the 25th minute and is Mancuso's 11th of the year as he is tied for second on the squad in that category.

York increased the lead to 2-0 when Mancuso returned the favor for Emil as Mancuso fed the freshman a pass that Emil converted into his first collegiate goal. The tally came in the 36th minute for York.

The Spartans took that lead to the break but the Crusaders came out of the half and trimmed the lead in half as Isaac Laubach converted an unassisted goal in the 49th minute.

The green and white got their bearings back and controlled the remainder of the second half. York outshot Susquehanna 15-5 in the second half but would not be able to net another goal despite the shot disparity.

Spartan Kyle Marks (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) earned the win as he improves to 16-1. Marks made four stops in his 90 minutes of work. Glackin went the distance in goal for Susquehanna as he made ten saves and allowed just two goals.

York finished the game with a 21-10 edge in total shots while they also held a 9-0 bulge in corner kicks for the game.

The Spartans open up defense of their back-to-back Capital Athletic Conference titles on Saturday afternoon as they will host an opponent to be determined. Game time at Graham Field is tentatively scheduled for 2:00 pm.
