YORK, Pa. - York College field hockey hosted Penn State Harrisburg, Saturday afternoon. The Spartans came out hot scoring four goals before halftime and one more in the third quarter to win, 5-0.
How it Happened
Olivia Miller opened up the Spartan scoring in the second minute. She intercepted a Lion pass slashing the shot in the back of the cage.
York scored its second goal in the fifth minute.
Aliza Staub followed a Lion save lifting the ball in the upper corner of the cage.
The third tally of the game came off the stick of
Kate Egan. She bobbed and weaved around Lion defenders spinning around the keeper for her sixth tally of the season.
In the 12th minute, Egan drew a foul, resulting in a penalty stroke.
Haley Boyarski was called to take the shot drilling it in the lower left corner of the cage to extend the Spartan lead to 4-0.
Michaela Cokinos notched the fifth Spartan goal of the game in the 38th minute. She went one-on-one with the Lions keeper netting the ball in the lower corner.
The Green and White had 12 shots on target compared to the Lion's two.

Marissa Brege split time in the cage for York making two saves.
