READING, Pa. - The York College women's volleyball team traveled to Alvernia University to face the Golden Wolves, Wednesday evening, for MAC Commonwealth action. The Spartans fell in five sets.

How it Happened
The Golden Wolves squeaked out a 25-21 victory in set number one.
York took the second set, 25-21. With the set tied 8-8, a 5-0 run was capped off by a
Maddie Hoffman ace and a
Kelsey Fahey kill. This allowed the Spartans to runaway with the set.
Alvernia pulled away in the third set, downing the Spartans 25-18.
In the fourth set, trailing 17-14, the Spartans executed a 4-0 run, bolstered by two consecutive kills from
Gracie Plunkert and a block assist by Plunkert and
Kendall Jenkins. Tied 23-23, the Spartans forced an Alvernia error, before
Saniya Esters got the kill to force a fifth set.
The Golden Wolves came out hot in the final set, hitting .571 with 10 kills. Alvernia took the set, 15-9.
Esters led all players with 19 kills.
Hoffman had a team-high 27 assists, complimented by
Kylie Kuo's 21 assists.
Sami Baer led the Green and White with 15 digs.

The Spartans will continue MAC Commonwealth play, Tuesday. York will host Stevenson University. The game is set for 7:00 pm at Charles Wolf Gymnasium.
