YORK, Pa. — The York College women's volleyball hosted Stevenson University, Tuesday evening for a MAC Commonwealth match-up. The Spartans rallied from a two-set deficit to complete a reverse sweep, defeating the Mustangs, 3-2.

How it Happened
The Mustangs took and early lead, including back-to-back aces from Rachel Lenz. York responded with kills from
Liz Kerin and
Darby Stetter to force an extra-point battle. Stevenson went on to edge out the Spartans, 27-25.
York had an early lead before Stevenson answered with a 7-1 run, eventually taking the second set, 25-21.
In the third set, there were seven lead changes, eventually falling in the favor of the Spartans. York sealed the 31-29 victory in set three on an ace by
Alex Helm.
York carried the momentum into the fourth set. Kerin had three-consecutive aces, to break away from the Mustangs, claiming a 25-18 win, forcing a fifth set.
In the final set, Stevenson was up 15-14 when Helm answered with a kill to level the set. Up 16-15, the Spartans completed the reverse sweep as Helm and
Kendall Jenkins combined for a match-ending block to solidify the 17-15 victory.
Kerin and
Gracie Plunkert led the Green and White with 11 kills a piece. Helm and Jenkins followed with 10 each.
Sami Baer held down the defense for the Spartans with a match-high 25 digs.
York's
Maddie Hoffman led all players in assists with 31.
Kylie Kuo totaled 16 assists for the Green and White.
Stevenson's Rachel Lenz led the match having 17 kills.
Up Next
The Spartans will host a non-conference tri-match, Saturday, October 3rd. York will face DeSales at 11 am followed by playing Ramapo at 3 pm.
