Volleyball Drops a Pair at Altoona Tri-Match

ALTOONA, Pa. - The Spartan women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the Penn State Altoona tri-match on Saturday. The Spartans fell in three sets to Susquehanna in their first match of the day and later fell, 3-1, to the host Lions.

How It Happened
Susquehanna overtook the Spartans in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-20. The River Hawks hit .316 as a team for the match, while the Spartans swung just .134. SU's Natalia Baca (13) and Isabella Sallie (12) led all players in kills for the match, while Saniya Esters paced the Spartans with 10.

In York's second match of the day, the Spartans claimed a 25-15 win in the second set, while Penn State Altoona won the other three sets by scores of 25-23, 25-17 and 25-14. Esters led all players with 13 kills in the match and Sami Baer posted a match-high 23 digs.

Esters led York with 23 total kills on the day with an average of 3.29 kills per set. Baer led the defense with 33 total digs and an average of 4.71 digs per set. Liz Kerin racked up a team-high of four blocks.
