Spartans Swept by Eastern in Conference Opener

YORK, Pa. - The Spartan women's volleyball team opened Commonwealth play at home Tuesday night with a 3-0 setback to Eastern. The Eagles claimed all three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-21 and 25-18.

How It Happened
The Eagles led wire-to-wire on their way to claiming the first set, 25-14, as they hit .278 and were led offensively by Josie Arezina with six kills. The Spartans owned an 18-16 lead late in the second set due to Saniya Ester's eight kills, but York stumbled down the stretch in a 25-21 set loss. After three early lead changes to begin the third set, Eastern rushed out to an 18-10 lead and cruised to a 25-18 victory as they recorded four blocks while holding York to just four kills.
