Men’s Golf Opens Fall Season at Toftrees Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – York College men's golf team opened the fall portion of their season by finishing 3rd out of 16 teams at the Toftrees Invitational hosted by Penn State Altoona at Toftrees Golf Resort on September 13-14.

York finished +14 with a 36-hole score of 590 (297 + 293). John Carroll won the team title by finishing 14-under par, followed by Randolph-Macon (-3) in second, Trine (+15) in fourth and Denison (+16) in the top-five.

Thomas O'Connell led the way for York by finishing in 10th place with a total score of 145 (+1) as he scored par or better on 31 of 36 holes, including an eagle on the par-five 14th hole on round two. Adam Gorman finished 15th with a total score of 147 (+2) and ranked up six birdies throughout the tournament. Kyan DeLong, who competed as an individual, and Alex Kaun tied for 35th with matching scores of 150 (+6). Alexander Jolakian finished 44th with a score of 151 (+7) and Luke Sabina rounded out the lineup in 69th place with a score of 159 (+15).

The Spartans will return to competition on September 27-28 at the Northeast Elite which will be played at Williamsport Country Club.
