YORK, Pa. - The York women's soccer team kicked off the season, hosting McDaniel College in their season opener on Tuesday evening.
The Spartans and Green Terror were in a back-and-forth battle with both teams notching a goal in each half.
McDaniel scored the first goal of the match in the 19th minute, unassisted off the boot of Alaina Miller.
York responded in the 30th minute when Meg Kaltof spotted
Maddie Wise who kneed the ball over McDaniel's keeper, Sierra Ruehl.
The Green Terror took the lead on another Alaina Miller goal in the 63rd minute.
In the 73rd minute, the Spartans drew a corner. Off the corner, Kalthof ripped a shot, saved by the keeper before deflecting to
Helen Sanders, who lofted the ball in the upper left corner of the goal, knotting it up, 2-2.
