YORK, Pa. - The York College women's soccer team hosted Lancaster Bible College in a non-conference contest. The Spartans started off strong, netting their first goal in the 4th minute. The Green and White fired off two more goals in the second half to claim the 3-0 victory.

How it Happened
York kicked things off, scoring in the 4th minute. The Spartans drew a corner kick. Off the inbound from
Jaelynn Small,
Jena Witters laced the ball in the upper left corner of the net to give York an early 1-0 lead.
York scored its second goal in the 62nd minute. The Spartans forced an errant pass from the Chargers' keeper, landing at the feet of
Anna Sis. She capitalized, sending the ball over the outstretched hand of the goalie.
The Spartans scored again when
Meg Kalthof out-hustled a Charger defender on a pass, leaving her one-on-one with the keeper. She buried the ball in the lower left corner of the net, extending the Spartan lead to 3-0.
Madison O'Brien and
Gracie Leathery shared time in the net for the Green and White, combining for the first shut-out of the season.
The Spartan defense held Lancaster Bible to only one shot on goal.
Notes
This is only the second meeting between the two programs… York is now 2-0 all-time over the Chargers… Witter, Sis, and Kalthof all recorded their first goals of the season… The Spartans had eight shots on target… York also held the Chargers to no corner opportunities… The Green and White had eight total corner kicks.
