York: 0-1
#12 Stevens: 1-0

How It Happened
The Ducks survived a barrage of Spartan opportunities early on and owned a 2-0 lead with two shots after one quarter of play. York generated 10 total shots and owned a 5-1 margin in penalty quarters through the first 15 minutes of action, but Stevens goalie Natalie Ward denied the Spartans six times in the opening frame.

York remained on the attack and finally broke through early in the second quarter on a corner when Olivia Miller set up Ana Kenst for the team's first tally. Three minutes later, York knotted up the score at 2-2 when Aliza Staub knocked in her own rebound off a blocked shot attempt. The momentum abruptly shifted back in the Ducks' favor 40 seconds later when Ava Pelletier put the host squad back in front, 3-2, and Stevens held that lead at the halftime break.

The Spartans again racked up 10 total shots in the third quarter to just one by the Ducks, but again were turned away six times by Ward. York's efforts did bear fruit as Kate Egan managed to find the back of the cage midway through the third to set up a decisive final period.

York again generated most of the scoring opportunities in the fourth quarter, including a penalty corner in the 57th minute which resulted in another save by Ward. That defensive stand by the Ducks proved to be crucial as they maintained possession the rest of the way and scored the game-winning goal with 34 seconds left in regulation.
