Gettysburg, Pa. - The York College field hockey team traveled to Gettysburg University, Saturday afternoon. The Bullets took an early lead before the Spartans scored three unanswered to secure the 3-1 win.

How it Happened
Through the first 15 minutes of play, the Spartans generated six shots and held a 5-2 advantage in penalty corners.
After a scoreless first period, the Bullets nabbed the first goal of the game in the 18th minute. Gettysburg's Jillian Somers connected with Sabrina Post, who snuck the ball into the back of the cage.
The Spartans knotted it up, 1-1, in the 26th minute.
Olivia Miller ripped a shot off of a penalty corner, finding the net off of a Bullet deflection.
York took the lead in the third quarter.
Kelsey Shahan belted a shot, which was saved by the Gettysburg keeper.
Kate Egan followed up the shot and buried the second chance opportunity.
In the 48th minute, the Green and White scored an insurance goal off the stick of Shahan. The Spartans drew their 12th penalty corner opportunity of the day.
Kelbie Linebaugh passed it to an uncovered Shahan, poking it past the Bullets goalkeeper.
The Spartans offense led the charge, having 11 shots on target, compared to the Bullets' three.
Abby Smith started in the cage for York, tallying two saves.
Marissa Brege also saw time in the cage.
The Green and White led the Bullets in penalty corner opportunities, 15-7.
Notes
The Spartans improve to 3-9 against Gettysburg, winning the last two match-ups… This was the first Spartan win against Gettysburg on the road… Egan has scored a goal for the Green and White in back-to-back games.
